The N-TL01 table lamp, designed by Norm Architects, is born out of a collaboration between several renowned Japanese manufacturers. To complement the minimalistic base in a bronzed stainless finish with soft leather wrapping, Ambientec has drawn on the deep knowledge and extensive expertise of Kojima Shoten, a century-old Kyoto-based lantern maker, and Karimoku Case to create an iconic washi paper lampshade with a delicate wooden base and a soft, welcoming expression.
Crafted as a portable lamp suitable for café tables, intimate dinner settings, or dimly-lit corners, its omnidirectional light is filtered through the tactile washi paper shade, casting a serene and inviting light upon its surroundings. Designed to coexist harmoniously with natural light during the day, the N-TL01 acts as a beautiful object in its own right, enhancing the aesthetic and emotional quality of the environment.

Collaboration with Japanese manufacturers and craftsmanship
This lampshade is made using the traditional Kyoto-based technique of "Kyo-Jibari," and has a structure that is both durable and delicate. Ambientec, which always values texture, is the only one that allows you to experience the rare, living craftsmanship up close and in every detail. This was made possible by adding the excellent technology of Karimoku Furniture, Japan's leading wooden furniture manufacturer.
Common philosophy between Ambientec with Karimoku Case
Ambientec and Karimoku Case share a commitment to creating designs that are not only functional but also enrich the user's experience and environment. This shared philosophy emphasizes striving for the natural and timeless, using materials that possess an inherent richness and gain beauty with time and age.
Manufacturing Collaborator: Kojima Shoten
Kojima Shoten was founded during the Edo period between 1789 and 1801. Since then, they have continued to produce high-quality lanterns as specialists in Kyoto-jibari style lanterns.
All processes, from splitting the bamboo to pasting the paper, are completed by hand, one by one, by specialized craftsmen. The core of Kojima Shoten today is a young craftsman who learned the techniques from his father, and his friend. While inheriting the traditional techniques and continuing to make lanterns for Kyoto's leading cultural facilities and stores, they also collaborate with famous brands from around the world and create new lanterns made from sustainable materials that suit modern lifestyles.
