From 1927, French architect and furniture designer Charlotte Perriand, together with Le Corbusier and his cousin Pierre Jeanneret, designed a series of furniture that stands for classic modernist furniture design like no other. Initially produced under license by various manufacturers, the rights to the designs in the LC series have belonged to Italian furniture manufacturer Cassina since 1965 - including the LC4 chaise longue from 1928. To mark the 110th anniversary of Charlotte Perriand's birth, Cassina reissued the elegant LC4 chaise longue in collaboration with Louis Vuitton in 2014. The limited edition of 1000 pieces is an elegant version with a pale pink reclining surface and a dark brown footrest and headrest made of high-quality Louis Vuitton saddle leather. Characteristic Louis Vuitton details are particularly evident in the yellow stitching of the leather and the elegant headrest straps. A particularly beautiful detail: the leather is not a support, but is fixed around the frame like a corset, as in the very first designs. The lounger on offer is in very good condition.
