Rico Baltensweiler and Rosmarie Schwarz, who were still unmarried at the time, developed the first lamp for their own use in a workshop in Lucerne in the early 1950s. Many architect friends liked the Type 600 Model 51 so much that the first series of 10 was produced. As the lighting ranges and office area grew, so did the company. In the meantime, the company has been transformed into a family-owned corporation. The designer couple created the HPR lamp in 1970, which can be adjusted to different positions thanks to the flexible "tube".
