In 1922, Rudolf Lehni Senior founded the Lehni company, which was still operating as a building plumbing business at the time. The decisive impetus for the production of furniture came when his son Rudolf Lehni and Andreas Christen met at the Zurich School of Arts and Crafts: together, the pair produced the aluminum bookcase for the Expo in Lausanne in 1964. Since then, the renowned Swiss company has been producing furniture in a clear design language, created by various designers. The minimalist, simple Lehni cabinet, also designed by Andreas Christen, consists of a clear anodized aluminium body with a round door knob. This is a version with four black shelves.
