From the genius of the De Pas, D’Urbino and Lomazzi studio, the Octopus coat rack, presented in its original and fun design. Eight arms of the common octopus or octopus vulgaris. The choice of the name, therefore, is not accidental. The shape represents the intrinsic dynamic potential of the object: a coat rack, designed in 1990, where eight arms project upwards to accommodate jackets, capes and hats and in the opposite direction, create a base able to support the loads.

The shape represents the intrinsic dynamic potential of the object: a coat rack, designed in 1990, where eight arms project upwards to accommodate jackets, capes and hats and in the opposite direction, create a base able to support the loads. The three architects associated in 1966, Jonathan De Pas, Donato D’Urbino, Paolo Lomazzi, created design that never proved to be, through the of the long partnership, in accordance with current canons, although it was conscious of a poetic influenced by different instances and contributions, climates and atmospheres, generated by artistic movements, exemplary pop art, with the 1964 edition of the Triennale di Venezia. De Pas, D’Urbino and Lomazzi designed Blow in 1967, inflatable armchair, international best seller, produced by Zanotta, presented at Eurodomus in Turin, in the pneumatic pavilion in transparent PVC, by the same designers.

In 1971, Joe for Poltronova, glove/seat in preformed polyurethane foam, covered in leather and whose name referred to Di Maggio, American baseball star. In 1972, the associates participated in the Italy The New Domestic Landscape exhibition at the Moma in New York, curated by Emilio Ambaz, at the time responsible for architectural design at the famous Museum. The 1974 exhibition “Italienische Möbel Design” 1950/1980 at the Stadtsmuseum in Cologne. In 2020, Codiceicona reissued Octopus, respecting the original configuration, with the use of an identical wooden knob, ovoid shape between the upper and lower forms of the eight arms that make it up.
