Carl Hörvik
1920
Polished birch. Caning in the seat and back.
These were part of the set of furniture Carl Hörvik participated with at 'Verkstadens utställning ' (The Workshop's Exhibition) in 1920. The set was advanced in its simple and straight forward manner, compared to what else was shown at the time.

"Bland de mindre stilbundna interiörerna lägger man särskilt märke till ett vardagsrum av arkitekt Carl Hörvik (Among the less style-bound interiors, one particularly notices a living room by architect Carl Hörvik)..." "The furniture and the room as a whole formed a fresh element in the exhibition, straightforward, objective and without punk (Möbeln och rummet som helhet bildade ett friskt inslag i utställningen, rättfram, sakligt och utan pjunk)."
Ed. Monica Boman, “Svenska Möbler 1890-1990”, see text on pages 113-115, the furniture pictured on page 114.
