Swiss architect and designer Rico Taravella worked closely with Geoffrey Bawa in Sri Lanka: Many of Bawa's projects were furnished with his furniture - the metal Athena Chair is said to have particularly appealed to the architect. He produced the furniture in the workshop in Bentota, which was founded by Taravella together with Tilak Seethawaka in 1991.
