Although somewhat overshadowed by the Art Nouveau of its French counterpart, the British Art Nouveau was also a bright new release from the stifling furniture fashions from the past. Although Art Nouveau in the British Isles was relatively short-lived in comparison to other continents, and its triumphs were outlined mainly in graphic design, illustration and decorative arts, it created notable and long-lasting work.
