Walter Papst

Walter Papst was born in Kiel in 1924; he grows up in a road called Jungfernstieg. His father is an Amtsrat (high-level civil servant) and his son therefore has the privilege of attending a Realgymnasium (technical high school), the Humboldt Schule in Kiel. One of his other ancestors, most of whom came from Küstrin in Pomerania, was a cabinetmaker – which links up to Walter Papst’s inclination and passion for working with wood later on in life.
